USD Sections

USD sections define additional data about another pane. It usually just follows the pane it is related to, but can be in any order as long as it has the name of the pane it belongs to.

This is a simplified example of a pane followed by a usd section:

Structure

A USD entry has a name, type and data section.

Name: String
Type: Int

  • 0: String
  • 1: Int
  • 2: Float

Format: Array of values of specified type

  • All, even undocumented ones.

Global Color Values

The system has special values that can be used throughout the system. These colors can change based on the system theme (light/dark), which is why they're often used.

These are the USD sections found throughout the home menu. They cannot be applied to every pane.


C_W

A dynamic color controller that overwrites the BackgroundColor (Switch Layout Editor)/White Color (Switch Toolbox) of a material.
A property that is used to give elements certain colors. These colors are dynamic and can change based on the system theme. Used almost everywhere (all menus have to support dark and light theme).

Type: 1
Format: [X, X, X, X]

Often only the first X is non-0. Sometimes multiple Xs are non-0.

For text panes, the second X may also be used. In the case that the flyt has a decide key, it has a special state: selected by the cursor. In this case, the first X will be the color when the text is un-selected, and the second X will be the color once the flyt is selected.

C_B

A dynamic color controller that overwrites the ForegroundColor (Switch Layout Editor)/Black Color (Switch Toolbox) of a material.
Doesn't always have an effect. Seems to be used in for example the cursor.

C_Id

Functionality unknown

Color doesn't change when C_W is set to another color -> C_Id probably 'overlaps' C_W. System theme color has almost no effect (except for 0 ('off')). All stuff here was tested on the lockscreen, and does vary per menu.
